IAC’s Mosaic Group Appoints Zachary Roseman as CEO
-Michael Vannucci elevated to Chief Marketing Officer at fast-growth mobile unit
NEW YORK—April 6, 2020—Mosaic Group, a mobile software company and operating business of IAC (NASDAQ: IAC) has strengthened its leadership team with two executive appointments. Effective immediately, longtime IAC and Mosaic Group veteran Zachary Roseman has assumed the role of CEO; Mosaic Group’s Executive Vice President of Marketing Michael Vannucci has also been elevated to Chief Marketing Officer.
Home to an award-winning collection of mobile products across health, lifestyle, communications and productivity, Mosaic Group counts nearly 4 million paying subscribers across 40 distinct mobile apps – a portfolio that has seen more than 200 million downloads in total. The company’s portfolio today includes iTranslate, winner of Apple’s 2018 Design Award and the Apple App Store’s #2 translation app; TelTech, the maker of the FTC-recognized spam call-blocker RoboKiller; Apalon, the developer behind winners of the 2018 Webby Award (Productive) and 2018 Appy Award (SnapCalc and Productive), along with NOAA Weather Radar and Dazzle; and Daily Burn, a leading brand in mobile health and fitness.
Formerly the General Manager of Mosaic Group’s Apalon unit—and head of mergers and acquisitions at the company prior to that—Mr. Roseman was a key contributor in the creation of Mosaic Group, spearheading the formative acquisitions of iTranslate, TelTech and Productive. As General Manager of Apalon, Mr. Roseman led the unit’s shift to subscription-based products like Sleepzy and Planes Live.
“Consumer spending on mobile apps outside of games—particular those designed to enhance daily life—is exploding globally,” said Zachary Roseman, CEO of Mosaic Group. “Mosaic aims to be the trusted mobile software partner for on-the-go consumers as they live their lives—a signal of quality and value in a world of app store noise. We’ve built a platform and business on creating and growing mobile products people love and I’m thrilled to be leading the company.”
According to App Annie, global consumer spend in mobile apps outside of games has grown 120 percent since 2016 to an over $9 billion market today and is expected to increase by more than 4x by 2022, largely driven by the shift to subscription. Mosaic plans to continue expanding both organically and through acquisition, with a focus on deepening its foothold in categories such as fitness, health and everyday living while entering into emerging categories such as communications and privacy.
Michael Vannucci, CMO of Mosaic Group stated, “Mosaic’s growth is a testament both to our commitment to top quality products and the strength of our talent. I’m honored to be part of this leadership team and look forward to continuing to build our brand and accelerate growth.”
Mosaic Group’s parent company IAC broke out the mobile software unit’s financial performance as part of fourth quarter 2019 earnings: revenue increased 16 percent in the quarter to $52.4 million, comprising 45 percent of total Applications segment revenue, which is up from 29 percent of segment revenue in the fourth quarter of last year.
