(January 22nd, 2009)--- CollegeHumor, the popular web comedy brand, today announced the company's first foray into television programming with details of their highly-anticipated new comedy series “The CollegeHumor Show,” slated to premiere during MTV’s new Sunday night block on February 8th, 2009 at 9:30 PM ET/PT.

Created by two high school friends (Ricky Van Veen and Josh Abramson) to share their crazy photos and stories while in college, has grown into a pop culture phenomenon with over six million loyal monthly readers. Shot in the actual site offices and featuring the actual site employees (who play themselves), “The CollegeHumor Show” is a scripted offbeat look into the company that creates some of today's most popular Internet comedy. The twenty-something characters infuse their workplace with a chaotic frat-house attitude, making it feel more like a summer camp without counselors than an actual functioning business (turn the boss's office into a ball pit? Why not?). The strength of the show lies in its ability to capture the energy and randomness of Internet comedy while grounding the fast-paced scenes in a relatable, character-driven story. The joke-crammed storylines veer off towards absurdity, and you never know when a sketch might break out. This is the office where daylong water cooler antics are occasionally interrupted by a five minute work break and the only office politics are total anarchy.

CollegeHumor is well-regarded for creating some of the web's most popular comedy videos (via their original programming division) including the "Hardly Working" series, which served as the inspiration for the new MTV show. Additional series include "The Michael Showalter Showalter," a short-form talk show hosted by comedian Michael Showalter featuring notable guest stars Paul Rudd, Michael Cera and Andy Samberg amongst others. The site’s first series, "Street Fighter-The Later Years" remains one of the internet's most popular web series.

"The new MTV series will showcase what CollegeHumor does best---produce funny, entertaining original content that resonates strongly with our core demographic," said Ricky Van Veen, co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of “It’s really great to see the CollegeHumor style of comedy find an audience in another format, especially one as large as MTV,” continued Van Veen. “Though I have seen every single episode of True Life at least twice, so I think the network kind of owed it to me at this point.”

"This is a great next step in the evolution of the CollegeHumor brand," said Josh Abramson, president and co-founder of "It's incredible that what started out as an online hobby between friends has since grown diversified its ever-expanding business model to include live comedy tours, books, clothing and now TV."

The CollegeHumor Show is executive produced by Ricky Van Veen, Josh Abramson, Sam Reich and Scott Tomlinson. Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Brent Haynes and Sam Grossman are the MTV executives in charge of production.

ABOUT COLLEGEHUMOR.COM: was founded in a dorm room in 1999 as an online depository for all of the content that floats around collegiate computer networks. The site has since grown into a daily updated source of original web content and now boasts a loyal following of over 6 million unique readers a month and more than 30 million monthly video views. With major blue chip companies such as Ford, Universal Pictures and Procter & Gamble now advertising on the site, the release of Penguin Books' The CollegeHumor Guide to College and Faking It…How to Seem Like a Better Person Without Actually Improving Yourself," and a movie with Paramount in the works, CollegeHumor has quickly emerged as an icon of today's young adult culture. CollegeHumor is an operating business of IAC (NASDAQ: IACI).
