- Founded in 1996, GetSmart is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, is owned and is operated by LendingTree, LLC.
- GetSmart is different than a traditional loan center, in that consumers enjoy a shorter, less invasive loan questionnaire (about 20 questions), and are then matched with lenders on an information only basis – they are not asked for specific lending criteria, like social security number. Once they choose a lender, consumers can then go through the necessary channels with one lender to receive a pre-approved loan offer.
